Game of thrones Series 2

Like winter, they are coming

A game of thrones is an amazing television show.

The Pop1 figures from the show are a huge success.

Now we can have a closer look at wave two of these figures.

For a look at series one click here.  Click on the characters name for a review of that figure.

Here we have Jon Snow the bastard of house Stark. He is looking quite fetching in the black.

Next in line is Rob Stark but will he be next in line for the Iron Throne or will he become King in the North. The figure is a good representation of the on screen character.

Arya Stark is looking very cool and Needle looks awesome.

Try not to cringe as we see Jaime Lannister  in his fine metallic gold armor.

Here is Cersei Lannister looking unimpressed. I really think she should have a wine goblet in hand.

Renly Baratheon one of the fan favorites. He looks awesome with his golden stag crown. We can only hope that Loras Tyrell will be in the next series.

Opinion:

This entire range of figures is looking awesome. I do hope that any exclusives are not quite as (almost) impossible to get as the GITD White Walker

Release Date:

These figures are available April 11th!

Exclusives:

I have no idea, but will update here when more information becomes available. Please feel free to comment if you know anything about the exclusives or just want to comment.

Game of thrones: Series 1

Funko vinyl Pop! Game of thrones 1-6

The game of thrones figures have been amazing. They are detailed enough to obviously represent there respective characters. Though they all retain the Funko pop! ascetic.

Wave 1:

Just click on the figures name to open there page.

01 Tyrion Lannister                                                                                    02 Ned Stark

03 Daenerys Targaryen                                                                               04 Khal Drogo

05 The Hound                                                                                            06 White Walker

  Limited Editions/Exclusives:

There is a variant of the White Walker that glows in the dark.
These limited release GITD white Walker seem to be exclusive to a Canadian retailer, previously unknown to me, called HMV. Through some Google searching it also seems HMV may now have gone into receivership.
I do not know if this GITD figure is also a limited edition, if you know please comment.
Update: I now have this figure, see here. Thanks to an ebay flipper and a very kind friend who dealt with the flipper so i could have one.

  Verdict:

I have to say i am very happy with the first wave. As my first foray into the wide world of Funko pop! i am pleased and have no regrets diving in. So if i had to pick my most and least faverate of this wave i would be torn , as i do not dislike any of them.

Best figure:  Daenerys Targaryen
Least figure:  White Walker

Daenerys Targaryen was chosen because it was her who initially made me decide to but some Funko pop!
The White Walker was chosen purely for the spear; being a little bent at the base and not coming with an ice tip.

  The One That Got Away:

The GITD White Walker eludes my capture. I am resigned to the fact that i shall never get him. I do wish Funko wouldn't make us turn to evil eBay flippers in order to complete our collection. Its not like i can just pop over to Canada to get one.
There is a 2013 spoiler figure.

Whats next:

Wave: 2

The next wave of these figures have been announced and look absolutely amazing.
We continue the line with two members of the Stark family, Robb Stark and Arya Stark.
We also have a rather dashing Jon Snow as the bastard in the black.
Horribly included in wave two are Cersei Lannister and Jaime Lannister who will be separated by Tyrion on my shelf, to prevent any shenanigans.
Last but definitely not least, the one figure fans have been begging for Renly Baratheon!

What will the exclusive(s) be? I know a lot of people will be hoping for a shaved Renly.

06 White Walker

"In that darkness the White Walkers came for the first time"

White Walker

The White Walkers are a not-so mythological race from the Game of Thrones HBO television show. There motives were unclear, they came in the dark of the long winter, killing without remorse and reanimating the dead as zombies or wights. He is the 6th figure in the Game of Thrones Funko vinyl Pop! line.

The packaging is window boxed and shows the white Walker in all his chilly glory. for a look at the GID exclusive click here.

The White Walkers eyes are different from the usual Funko pop figure, being blue with a black pupil as opposed to just black. The figure is also notable for having both a nose and a mouth, most pops seem to have one or the other. His nose is also not the usual pop nose.
His chest is finely detailed and looks gauntly muscled. He carries a spear, but it unfortunately does not have an ice tip.

The White Walker approaches the human camp, he pauses raises his spear and whispers the eldrich words. The snow moves around him, slowly the corpses of the frozen dead emerge from there icy graves. A human notices the movement, but too late, the White walker commands his newly risen undead troop forward.
Laughter rings through the night, the humans point and stare. The White walker looks on confused as the humans jeer and do a little dance. His ancient blue eyes turn back upon his troops, he sees the reason for the humans mirth. His fearsome wight soldiers are shuffling forward, but seem to be doing some kind of choreographed dance routine as they do. The White walker shakes his head and walks slowly back into the snow, his icy zombie army doing a two-step shuffle behind him.

05 The Hound

"Any man dies with a clean sword..."

The Hound

Game of Thrones: 05 The Hound

Sandor Clegan, Nicknamed The Hound is a warrior loyal to house Lannister. He is the 5th Game of Thrones Funko vinyl Pop! figure. He is stern but not without compassion, understandably he does not like to be close to flames.

The box art is standard for Funko Pop figures, that is to say it is outstanding packaging. Each window box individualised to the line and the particular figure inside.

The Hounds face has the scars that we see on the character. He has a mustache and beard but no mouth. He also has the unusual feature of having half closed eyes.

His armor is amazingly detailed and a lovely metallic silver.

The Hounds sword is equally impressive.

Here we see the Hound having a little chat with Tyrion Lannister.

A video of the figure is here for your viewing pleasure:

04 Khal Drogo

"I will give to him a golden crown and men will tremble when they will see it."

04 Khal Drogo

Khal Drogo is the 4th figure in the Funko Vinyl Pop, Game of Thrones line. He is a powerful war chief among the Dothraki horseman tribes. He is married to  Daenerys Targaryen, the rightful queen of Westeros.

Game of Thrones 04 Khal Drogo

The box art has the usual awesome individualised art.

The overall figure is an amazing representation. The pony tail in the hair is well designed, and the scar on Drogo's eye and face paint really help to give the figure character.

Drogo has his metallic painted Arakh weapon and a cool gold belt. The detail on his clothing is amazing. The muscle on his chest is well defined, as it should be.

Together the lovers Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen. They make a handsome couple.

Here is a video of Khal Drogo for those interested.
There is a cute stop motion animation at the end.

03 Daenerys Targaryen

""I am the blood of the dragon""

03 Daenerys Targaryen

 SPOILER WARNING

The third figure in the Game of Thrones line is the one that convinced me to purchase these Funko figures. Daenerys Targaryen.
Game of Thrones by HBO is based on the George R.R. Martin book series, A Song of Ice and Fire.
A Game of Thrones tells the story of noble houses in a fantasy medieval world.
Daenerys (Dany) is the last of the noble Targaryen house, the true and legitimate rulers of Westeros. Currently a khaleesi (war-leader) of the Dothraki (horseman tribe). She intends to take back her family's lost empire and rule justly.

Game of Thrones 03 Daenerys Targaryen

The box art is gorgeous and has a pretty good depiction of the actual figure.

Danny's face is a cutesie version of her, her clothing is true to the show and leaves little doubt who this figure represents. The hair also has nice braided details and extensions at the front.

Dany does not come alone perched on her arm is Drogon her favorite dragon, who is named after Khal Drogo her husband. Drogon is absolutely adorable and really completes the figure. It might have been cooler for her to have all three, one on her back and one in her hair perhaps, but she does not.

Here she is with Ned Stark and Tyrion Lannister for comparison. As you can see they look very nice together.

Here she is with Khal Drogo and don't they make an adorable couple.

If you would like to see a video of the box and figure, please watch below:

02 Ned Stark

"Winter is Coming"

02 Ned Stark

SPOILER WARNING: Though i will do my best to avoid any major spoilers, there may be a few minor ones for those who have not seen the TV series. If Spoilers do occur you will see this warning and they will only be mentioned if the figure itself demands it.

So my second Funko Vinyl Pop! Figure is Edition One 02 Ned Stark from the Game of Thrones line.
Based on the George R.R. Martin book series, A Song of Ice and Fire, and made more popular by the HBO TV series, A Game of Thrones follows a collection of noble houses as they bicker for power and wealth in a fantasy medieval world.
Eddard "Ned" Stark is the lord of Winterfell and the head of the Stark House, house Stark rules many lesser houses of the north lands.

Game of Thrones 02 Ned Stark
The box is nice with pictures of the figure, though interestingly the box art may depict an earlier design as the hairline is very different.

Ned makes an imposingly cute little warrior. He has an adorable mustache and beard around where his mouth should be. The detail on the sword badge and clothing are all equally impressive.

Check out this awesome spoiler exclusive.

Here he is standing taller than Tyrion Lannister.

A look at the SDCC decapitation figure.

This is a video of the figure and packaging..
