Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!

 The star of Beetlejuice a 1996 movie that is truly awesome.

 Beetlejuice is the 5th in the Funko Pop vinyl Movies line of figures.

 He looks like he does in the movie.

 He has a big grin and green ectoplasm on his face.

His green hair is spiked and very cool.

He wears the striped suit to show he is a professional bio-exorcist and not some fly-by-night operator. 

 He fits in well with the other movie pop figures, here we have Jason and Hannibal.

Note that the eyes on the packaging are different to the eyes on my figure. This is common as most Beetlejuice figures have the black eyes. 

A "chase" figure is out there with box accurate eyes and is being sold for a ridiculous amount by evil ebay flippers. Unless you find one in the wild (for a standard pop price), i would pass on this variant.
The chances of me, in rural Australia finding a pop in the wild let alone a chase are extremely small, the one store that has just got pop figures in has a very small selection and i am sure any stickered pops would be off the shelves quite quickly.

First impressions can be very important. When i first stumbled upon this program i knew nothing about it. I always had an interest in the paranormal and decided to watch the episode i had stumbled upon. I was charmed by the flirting between Sam and Dean and thought it was a really brave move to have an openly gay male couple staring as the paranormal investigators of this show. I was interested to see more, made a mental note, then promptly forgot about it. Some years later a friend asked 

"you must watch supernatural right?".

 I said that i didn't know the show, but the friend showed me a picture of the guys and i said 

"Oh yer the gay couple, i do want to watch this, is it worth buying on DVD?" 

My friend laughed and informed me that they were in fact brothers, i couldn't believe it, but a quick internet search confirmed the disappointing news. sadly all interest was lost, first impressions can be very important.

Now Funko pop have created the Supernatural couple i mean duo, for their television line of Pop! vinyl figures.

Opinion:

I cant really say much about these guys, having only seen one episode of the show. But it appears from these shots that the body's are the same which isn't exactly cool. If the line grows it would be cool to see some of the traditional paranormal entities getting the Pop treatment.

Halloween's Michael Myers

 

Halloween (the movie) was one of the first slasher films and created a lot of the standard horror movie rules. The franchise went on to create ten movies, comics, novels, games and changed horror movies forever.

 Michael Myers is the star and killer in the Halloween movies. He is a supernatural slasher and even if killed he just keeps coming back, death seemingly being a minor inconvenience for him. He is the 3rd figure in the Funko pop Movies line.

The back of the box states "they'll thrill you!" which is appropriate because back in the day a Thriller movie was not just what you called a boring horror. 

Here is Michael Myers in all his stabby glory. He is easily recognisable by any fan of horror.

One thing that struck me was the dark brown around his eyes. At first i thought it was mistake as this was a different colour to his skin. However it is accurate to the movies as he wore dark eyeliner.

He wears his white mask and has both a cute nose and mouth.

Here we see Michaels overalls, considering his penchant for eyeliner, he doesn't seem to put much effort into his wardrobe.

Michael Myers would be caught dead without his signature weapon, the humble yet successful kitchen knife. It is shinny and silver with blood from his last victim, or it could be jam, he has to eat too you know.

Here he is a member of the big three horror giants. With Freddy Krueger on the left and Jason Vorhees on the right, a horrifying threesome to be sure.

Here we see Michael, Jason and Freddy being mean to Leatherface. Bullying and bigotry are wrong and these pops are going to be in serious trouble unless they change there evil ways.

What is Halloween: 

Halloween or Samhain is a seasonal religious holy day celebrated on the 30th of April–1st of May in the Southern Hemisphere, and as it is a seasonal festival it is celebrated on the 31st of October –1st of November in the northern hemisphere.
At Samhain the veil between this world and the spiritual world is very thin, as such it is a time to communicate, honor and pay respect to those who have died.
