04 Gizmo

Gremlins

 Gremlins is a 1984 American horror comedy film. A man buys a pet Mogwai for his teenage son. The strange creature is named Gizmo and has three rules to its care;

Never expose it to bright light,
Never get it wet;
Never, ever feed it after midnight.

Gizmo is the star of both gremlins and the sequel Gremlins 2. He is a furry little biped from china.

Gizmo is number 4 in the Movies line of Funko pop vinyl figures, he is the first Gremlins figure. The box art is reminiscent of the wooden box that Gizmo lived in at the antique shop.

The Mogwai has its head turned in the window box which is unusual.

Short of making him plush (there may be a flocked exclusive) i don't see how Gizmo could be any closer to his movie counterpart.

Gizmos ears are large and wide. In the movie they are very articulate but on the figure the only articulation is at the neck.

His hands and feet are beyond adorable.

For some size comparison we have Leonidas on the left and Bicycle Girl from The Walking Dead on the right.

Inside every cute Mogwai waits a vicious Gremlin.

The other Gremlins Movie figure is called Gremlins, though it is clearly Stripe.

 Limited/Exclusives:

There is a flocked exclusive to 2011 San Diego Comic Con that is limited to 480 fuzzy pieces.

04 Sunflower

"We don't want zombies on our lawn"

Sunflower

Sunflower is a type of plant in the Plants Vs Zombies  tower defense computer game . The Sunflower generates sunlight which allows the building of other plants to defend your garden. She is well know for her light production and singing voice.

Sunflower is the 4th figure in the Plants Vs Zombies line of Funko pop vinyl Figures. She is a good representation of the computer character.

The Sunflower has no articulation. None, it is a static piece with no movable parts at all.

Sunflower wears her usual happy smile.

The back of Sunflowers head has  nice textured details reminiscent of an actual sunflower.

The base of Sunflower looks like four leaves. With her sunny disposition and flowery nature Sunflower is sure to please both fans of the game, and anyone who needs to brighten there day.
Poor Sunflower can not walk, but she can still dance.

Here we see a size comparison. Sunflower stands between Zombie also from the Plants Vs Zombies line and Daenerys Targaryen from wave 1 of a Game of Thrones.

Here we have a mix of Plants Vs Zombies and Walking Dead figures.

07 Chi Chai Monchan

"Bananas, bananas, bananas."

Chi Chai Monchan

Chi Chai Monchan is a character in the Sanrio Hello Kitty franchise. I couldn't really find much about Chi Chai Monchan he seems to be a mysterious character. He is a pink fun loving monkey who lives on a small island where he climbs trees and balances bananas on his head, for some reason.
Sanrio is a Japanese company that produces kawaii or cute merchandise and are best known for there Hello Kitty characters.

If you know more about this secretive monkey please feel free to comment.

Chi Chai Monchan is the 7th figure in the Sanrio line of Funko Pop! vinyl figures.

Apparently Chi Chai Monchan finds it fun to balance bananas on his head.

The fact that the bananas are permanently attached may account for his huge happy face smile.

He has a huge head. While Funko Pops usually have large heads, this little pink monkey has the biggest head that i have seen on a Pop.  Frankly his head is ginormous. His humongous head only adds to his overall cuteness.

Chi Chai Monchan also has an adorable curly whirly prehensile tail. He is among the strangest Pop! that i have, but he is rather cool.

As you can see, even compared to Jack Sparrow, this little monkeys head is quite large and flat, possibly as a  byproduct of balancing too many bananas on it...

14 Gollum

"My precious, I wants it!"

Gollum

Gollum was a character in the Hobbit and its sequel The Lord of The Rings.

Spoiler Warning: (If you have been living in a cave with a ring as your only entertainment)
Gollum was originally a Hobbit of the river folk called Smeagol, he was corrupted by his precious one ring.

Gollum is the 14th Movies funko pop! and one of the 3 in the first Hobbit wave.

While his is one of the most under clothed figures, Gollum manages to pull off  the scrap of cloth as a loincloth look to perfection. He has dark rings around his eyes, but his pointed toofy smile gives him a rather happy look. The hands are creepily detailed, actually they freak me out in a "room full of dolls" kind of way.he does not have his ring.

Here he is reminiscing about Middle-earth with Tyrion Lannister from a Game of Thrones.

As a reward for keeping still, and not biting anyone, during this photo shoot, Gollum has his choice of one ring.

48 Jack Sparrow

"I've heard of one, supposed to be very fast, nigh uncatchable; The Black Pearl."

Jack Sparrow

Jack Sparrow  is a fictional character in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise. Captain Jack Sparrow is one of the pirate lords of the seven seas. The movies are, arguably, memorable for having a superfluous female love interest.

Jack Sparrow is the 48th Disney (series 4)  Funko pop! vinyl character.

The details on this figure are amazing. He has a sword attached to his belt. Colorful braids in his hair and beard.
His left hand holds a tiny but convincing pistol. Jack Sparrow's clothing is incredibly detailed, and while the paint may not be perfect the molding is enough to really bring the character to life.
This has to be one of the most detailed figures i have seen, all the attention to Jack really payed off.

He stands about the same height as most pops, but without his hat he would be considerably shorter. He is seen here with Khal Drogo from the Game of Thrones line.

When the Black Pearl is unavailable whats a pirate to do?

Here is a video of this figure.

06 White Walker

"In that darkness the White Walkers came for the first time"

White Walker

The White Walkers are a not-so mythological race from the Game of Thrones HBO television show. There motives were unclear, they came in the dark of the long winter, killing without remorse and reanimating the dead as zombies or wights. He is the 6th figure in the Game of Thrones Funko vinyl Pop! line.

The packaging is window boxed and shows the white Walker in all his chilly glory. for a look at the GID exclusive click here.

The White Walkers eyes are different from the usual Funko pop figure, being blue with a black pupil as opposed to just black. The figure is also notable for having both a nose and a mouth, most pops seem to have one or the other. His nose is also not the usual pop nose.
His chest is finely detailed and looks gauntly muscled. He carries a spear, but it unfortunately does not have an ice tip.

The White Walker approaches the human camp, he pauses raises his spear and whispers the eldrich words. The snow moves around him, slowly the corpses of the frozen dead emerge from there icy graves. A human notices the movement, but too late, the White walker commands his newly risen undead troop forward.
Laughter rings through the night, the humans point and stare. The White walker looks on confused as the humans jeer and do a little dance. His ancient blue eyes turn back upon his troops, he sees the reason for the humans mirth. His fearsome wight soldiers are shuffling forward, but seem to be doing some kind of choreographed dance routine as they do. The White walker shakes his head and walks slowly back into the snow, his icy zombie army doing a two-step shuffle behind him.
