Disco Skeletor Television Masters of the Universe

Disco Skeletor

Skeletor is one of the major villains in the Masters of the Universe story.

Skeletor is the 19th figure in the Funko vinyl Pop Masters of the Universe Television line. This version is the SDCC exclusive figure that is limited to 480 pieces.

The limited figure is noted by the sticker on the front of the window box.

Skeletor is a good representation of his cartoon character, i have no idea about why he is dressed in this outfit, or its relevance.
If you know please comment and share your knowledge.

Skeletor's Skeletal face has pale Funko eyes, a hollow for a nose and prominent teeth.

The figure is very nicely detailed with metallic paint.

Skeletor wields the Havoc staff that amplifies and enhances his magical powers, this version has startling gold horns.

His costume is nicely detailed and faithful to his classic character, though as mentioned the colours are far more fabulous.

Here he is beside Disco Glitter Zombie from the Plants Vs Zombies line.

Here he is beside his ordinary Skeletor version.

Skeletor and Disco Skeletor look amazing on display beside He-Man.

Exclusive figures; Acid splash Alien, Blood splatter Bicycle Girl, Disco skeletor and Glow in the Dark White Walker.

Batman questions Skeletor about the missing nipple mystery. Oddly Skeletor has no nipples.

Ned Stark SDCC 2013 exclusive figure

Poor Ned

This Ned Stark is a SDCC exclusive limited to only 1008 figures. Fair warning if you haven't seen Game of Thrones, this figure is a spoiler.

The box should have blood splatter on the window area and blood on the neck of the figure.

Also you should see the exclusive sticker on the window box.

The figures body looks the same as the original.

Though the colours on mine do look more vibrant and distinct.

Aside from a few colour differences and the half closed eyes you could mistake this figure for the normal one.

Here he is with non-exclusive Ned Stark.

As i mentioned above the eyes of this Ned are half closed, being in a dungeon can be exhausting.

A look under his head shows where the bloody blow struck.

The head just pulls off but can be held nicely in place by a clever magnetic system.

For anyone wondering, yes his body can be used as a fridge magnet. Though the magnet is not very strong.

CHOP!

As you can see this figure will make for some excellent displays.

Ned took the saying "two heads are better than one" a little too literally.

No Jaime you are not.

So what do you think of this version of Ned? I personally, while not a fan of duplicate character figures, do really like it.

Metallic  Skeletor

When Skeletor goes out for a date he does not mess around, he is the embodiment of fashion sense. And few would argue with his choices.
This metallic figure of awesomeness is a 2013 SDCC exclusive. For a look at the normal figure click right here.

Preview: Bloody Rorschach

Blood splatter exclusive:

Here is a picture of the 2013 SDCC exclusive blood splatter Rorschach.

Walter J Kovacs is  Rorschach A vigilante who wears a white mask that contains a symmetrical but constantly shifting ink blot pattern used by psychiatrists. The mask appears to be his only super power. He still fights crime despite being an outlaw. Rorschach sees things as very black and white.

For a look at the ordinary figure see the Watchman.

Preview: Alien Vs Predator

Aliens Vs Predator

Whereas previously we only had concept art from the 2013 Funko Vinyl Pop catalogue, now we have pictures of the actual figures. Stores are already taking pre-orders so don't miss out.

Number 30 in the Movies Funko pop line is Alien and it looks like it is from the movie Alien. It looks awesome.
For a full review with photos click here.

For exclusives click here.

Number 31 is the very cool Predator figure. A must have for any fans of the Predator movie. Want to see an exclusive?

They have come a long way since there concept art and i think they look much better in real vinyl.

Both figures will probably have the 17+ symbol, but this is because of the movie they are from rather than the actual figure.

Release Date:

Pre-orders are up for May 2013 So i would expect them to attack around then. The official release date is May 16th!

Catalogue 2013

Catalogue 2013

We are going to have a look at some pictures from the 2013 Funko catalogue.
I will focus only on the non-bubble head Funko Vinyl pops.

First we have some concept art for Robby the robot and The Lost in space robot, i am not completely sure if these are Funko Vinyl pop or bobble heads. I am hoping these will become part of my collection as i loved the campness of Lost in Space and have Forbidden planet on DVD. Robby the Robot actually appeared in an episode of Lost in Space called War of the Robots.
Also this page was marked Thrillers and Sci-Fi, does that mean that the Martian will no longer be forever alone?

A veritable army is added to the horror genre, Lecter looks cool i kind of wish they had given us small versions of the entire Chucky family in one box so the scale would be a little better, but it is still good to see him.

Alien funko pop at last! And the Predator is a good addition, its only concept art but the fact there coming is awesome. Xenomorphs! For Photos of the figures, look here. For an in depth look at the Alien go here.

Back to the future concept art looks nice, and the Delorean is an awesome surprise, i hope the figures can sit in it and one figure doesn't come permanently attached.
Also opens up a lot of options for future accessory releases, the time machine for Shelden, the Iron Throne for game of thrones figures,  and the lost in space ship would be cool.
What would you want to see?

Classic tv Batman is it? Looks that way to me, and a classic Batmobile is just adorable, linked to the review.
Shelden has already been released but finally he has some friends. Amy is going to be the first released. Its good to see and i hope they continue this line and get the whole gang.  Also they need there life size replica of the time machine.

We have some interesting figures here, i really like the Genie, Rocketeer and Mary Poppins.  I am sure there is more than one fan out there who will go crazy for Merida.

Despicable me was an alright movie, i do really like the Minions. Update: Get a closer look here.

Ace is overshadowed in this picture by Jay and Silent Bob! From the Clerks franchise of movies. I have only one thing to say about this "Snoochie Boochies!"

I can see any number of these guys and girls guarding many a desktop. The concept art looks prey cool.

I think these are already released but somehow i missed them. Awesmones! I have Master Chief now.

While i have very little interest in the Rocky films, i did immediately recognise this pop as Mr T who played B. A. Baracus in mission impossible.

Original Planet of the Apes figures make me very excited! General Ursus and Ape soldiers, these look incredible and the figures (photos from toy fair) look even better. I can not wait to get my appendages on this lot.

Dumbo is cool and Alice would look good fleeing any of the Horror guys, King Louie is interesting, lets face it monkeys are cool.

While the final instalment of the game and its ending leave a lot to be desired, i still have a lot of fond memorys of this group of space misfits. A must have for me.

Teenage mutant ninja turtles are back and they may be cuter than ever before.

The Wizard of Oz line gets more figures, i have the monkey. The good witch looks horribly sweet, Scarecrow reminds me of a Batman villain, Tin  Man seems cool, but i am sure the real figure will be a little bit rusty. And the Brave Lion is adorable.

I like Rorschach but i am disappointed with Dr. Manhattan, if he is indeed wearing clothing on the final figure.
Such a shame, i am sure there would have been ways to sell the figure and still respect the franchise. This one is a disappointing miss in my book.

We see the wave 2 Walking Dead figures and some concept art for wave 3. They all look good, but another Rick, when there are so many other characters we could receive, that puzzles me. I still want these but i may pass on the Rick clone.

Ash looks incredible and i can not wait for his release. The Deadite looks good and will add to the growing undead apocalypse. Evil dead is a classic and i hope these figures do the franchise justice.

While i am not the biggest fan i know the Big Lebowski is quite a popular movie. And this concept art does make the characters look recognisable.

Well thats about it, there is more in there but these are my highlights. I hope you enjoyed our look through the 2013 catalogue. It is going to be a big year for Pop and a painful year for my wallet.

One curious thing before i go. Funko make vinyl My Little Ponys, and pop ponys as well. But this fellow Dr. Whooves is an obvious take on The Doctor, from Doctor Who. Makes me wonder is this simply a homage or does Funko have the rights to Doctor Who. Can we expect Dr.Who Funko Pop in the future?
